This study takes the singular approach of reading two sides of a parable. The close reading will locate the message of the text within the world of both Jesus and Matthew. The homiletic suggestions and reflection questions use the ancient text to address some of the issues of the modern faith community.

Sam Tsang has written more than thirty books in both English and Chinese. Tsang teaches preaching in Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary and holds a PhD in Biblical Studies from the University of Sheffield. He is the author of From Slaves to Sons (2005). He now resides in the Seattle area, as he travels the globe, from N. America, Europe, Asia to Australasia, lecturing and preaching on his passions, in both Chinese and English. Tsang is also a member of Society of Biblical Literature.
