This book presents a concise and contemporary account of theory and research on presenteeism. It thoroughly discusses the definition and measurement of presenteeism, followed by an overview of the presenteeism literature focusing on key areas such as the prevalence, causes, consequences, costs and benefits of presenteeism. It reviews the models of presenteeism, and how they have been used to explain presenteeism behavior in the workplace.
