This research focuses upon the Pentecostal movement’s unfolding the intellectual progress, having due regard to its profoundly American roots. Having a complex relationship with modernity, Pentecostalism’s experience of the Spirit has been transformative of people’s lives for the better, from which those having different religious convictions may learn.

Nigel Paul Willis was born in Cape Town (South Africa). He is currently a Judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal in South Africa. He was been Chairman of Board of Trustees for the Anglican Diocese of Johannesburg since 2005.
