Autorenportrait
Susanne Leimstoll, was born in Stuttgart in 1956. Her father was from Berlin and her mother from Baden-Württemberg. She worked as an editor for over 42 years, mainly for daily newspapers, and for more than two decades she worked for the Tagesspiegel and its magazines. In 1993, she received the Wächterpreis der Tagespresse (a journalism award) for an investigation into fraudulent dealings by the Treuhand privatisation agency. She has twice been among the winners of the Konrad Adenauer Foundations Deutscher Lokaljournalistenpreis (a local journalism award) for a series of articles for the Tagesspiegel. For several years, her focus has been on topics related to lifestyle and the enjoyment of food and drink. Susanne Leimstoll lives and works as a freelance writer in Berlin.
