Welding is a popular and highly developed joining method used in automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding industries as well as in general civil engineerng. The 4th IWOTE placed its focus on mastery distortions and stresses which occur in local thermal processing like welding, cladding or additive layer manufactoring as well as using the strains intentionally for thermal forming.
