Togetherness through Legal Rules': From the age of constitutionalism with its formation of territorial-state and federal belonging in pre-national spaces, the volume goes back to the legal foundation of affiliation in medieval legal communities of tribal kingdoms and cities. In the Old Empire, notions of constitutional patriotism are linked to the densifying legal association of the empire, before the developed national constitutional state in the 20th century constitutes its belonging through the legal exclusion of enemies.
